自 2018 年起，由宜兰世代机器产业背景的兄弟创办人张碩傑与张碩東共同创立丹尼船长（Captain Danny）。他们意识到台湾零食市场多年缺乏创新，决定以机械工程专业为基础，发明全球首款用高温烘烤米粒而非玉米制成的“米米花”，让传统爆米花焕然一新

经过长达 18 个月的研发、多次调校烘烤流程与米种参数，最终选用宜兰在地台稻米，开发出非油炸、超酥脆、不黏牙的米米花。每一口都能吃到原始米香与自然口感

品牌理念是「健康零食也能好吃、好玩、有温度」：米米花采用无油烘烤工艺、无麸质、不油炸，并坚持使用无毒原料，消费者可以放心食用给孩子、朋友、家人共享

创立后，品牌透过快闪店、社群电商与团购成长迅速，在 2023 年推出累计超千团、全年销售突破 250 万包，全方位迈向国际市场，包括日本、新加坡、马来西亚、美国等地均有订单

如今丹尼船长不仅是台湾米制零食的标杆品牌，更代表年轻世代的创新与勇气，将台湾在地稻米文化带向世界。未来将持续开发新口味、扩大产品线、并结合更多台味食材，成为更具代表性的伴手礼品牌

Captain Danny was founded in 2018 by siblings from a family with a mechanical manufacturing background in Yilan. They saw a gap in Taiwan’s snack industry and set out to innovate — combining engineering with culinary creativity to create the world’s first rice-based popcorn baked (not fried) from premium Taiwanese rice, rather than corn

After 18 months of tweaking rice varieties, moisture levels, and machine parameters, they perfected a non-corn, non-fried, rice popcorn that is delightfully crunchy, naturally aromatic, and never sticky on the teeth

Built on the idea that snacks can be both healthy and enjoyable, Captain Danny crafts rice pops using safe, non-toxic ingredients and a gluten-free, oil-free baking process, enabling families to snack guilt-free

The brand grew rapidly via flash stores, social media, and group-buy sales. In 2023 alone, Captain Danny exceeded 250 million packs sold, with distribution across ten countries including Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, the U.S., and more

Today, Captain Danny stands as a pioneer in Taiwan’s rice snack category — a blend of innovation, taste, and culture — with plans to expand into new flavors and formats, and bring the “taste of Taiwan” to global snack lovers
